So it wasn't so much him as it was the guys delivering it. know, Shawn Michaels and Triple H delivering this content. Is gold, right, because of the way they act and the way they can deliver the lines. Other guys trying to copy the shit or trying to come up or him trying to come up with something.

So his wife hates this other dude and this other dude's wife just happens to be a pro wrestler who hasn't been around for a while that people still talk about constantly. Why the shit would you? That is the most naturally written storyline ever. And Vince Russo is over here like, no, bro, you're trying to force it, bro. If you're bringing her in at the end of the show, bro, she's you're showing you all the other guys don't have any pull, bro, because that's the way the moron talks. First of all, it's a grown man who has to say, bro, every fourth or fifth word.

Right. He is ridiculous. He's out of touch with reality. say, say, dude. Well, he's out of touch with reality. He's out of touch with modern wrestling. And because he has a name, because he's associated with the attitude era, people still cling to it. So so he still has followers. He's still popular. He's on a podcast and his podcast is huge because people are stupid. This is where I keep saying, you know, I'm sorry, guys.

And I know this goes against everything I'm trying to do with getting our podcast out there, but there's a lot of stupid wrestling fans out there who are going to give power to people who have no business having power. Vince Russo has no business having power. Eric Bischoff has no business having any kind of sway into what people think about professional wrestling. Jim Cornette, zero. Becky Lynch says he moved out of the town we're in now and he died and it's horrible. Give me a fucking great Kevin. Terrible father. He ate a bat. Hypocrite much? I see the issue. don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong. It's stream rules every other week. Right. There's nothing wrong with. Right. Death match. With balls to the wall. Great matches. But it's the same thing as a death match, a hardcore match. If you use them every single week, they lose their special.

Right. If somebody bleeds every week, John Moxley, then seeing blood. I could have done that. Right. Then seeing blood on TV doesn't have the shock value. He's great to watch but dude, you've got to tone it down a little bit because then you're You don't have anything left to give for your big matches You can have a three three and a half star match. Take it to your five-star matches where you're not having to do 27 false pins. You're not having to have 16 guys come and break something up and get everything else. It doesn't have to be a death match every time. Right. Overkill, overdoing five-star matches takes away the specialness of a five-star match. It's like watching gymnastics. If AEW has so many five-star matches, let's give an example, Collision tonight. If every single match is a five-star match except one, you will only look at the one that isn't a five-star match instead of looking at how good, good.

the five star matches are. first all, think the whole rating system for matches is ridiculous anyway. What do mean? Well, because first of all, we go by one person. We go by Dave Meltzer. We should not. There's one guy. Doesn't he do like six and a half sometimes? Well, yeah, he has a five star rating, but sometimes they can have six stars, which is ridiculous. And if you go through and you watch, he likes a certain style of wrestling. Right. So and I don't fault him in that. Everybody has a different style that they like. Right. But if somebody wrestles

A style of match that I like. I'm really big into chain wrestling, mat wrestling submissions. doesn't particularly care for it. They get a big meaty man slapping me. Gunther and Seamus. If I watch a match with say William Regal versus Kurt Angle. that sounds like a good match. I am going to rate that. I can tell you without the match happening, I'm going to rate that five stars because those are two of the best in-ring technicians of all time.

Ace might get bored with how long they're just doing holds. Cause don't they do holds? Like both of them combined when they do holds for like the first 10 minutes of the match. they would definitely back and forth counter this, counter that into this, into that, into something else. And I love that. Well, I'm fine with counters. It's the, side headlock. The other guy counters into a side headlock, push off the ropes. You go back into a side headlock, put him down on the mat, put him into a submission. He gets out, you do another submission.

It's like it's the basic moves that I could do that makes me upset. know what I'm saying? And on the same note, he just said he thought Seamus and Rusev. Gunther. Seamus and Gunther. There's a great match. We thought Seamus and Rusev might have been the match of the night at was Summers or Clash in Paris. Yeah. I wholeheartedly disagree. I enjoyed the match. I enjoyed. I've watched it. I know. I've enjoyed the match.

And it was a good match, but I could not say it was I could say it was near the best match tonight because there's only one other match that was better than it. But I wouldn't give it a five star because what would you give it? Probably four. OK, well, three and a half, four, because it's not my style of match. So there's there's that right that curve. And then it's also very obvious that Meltzer has favorites in wrestling. The dude's not a spray. Well, the dude is biased as shit.

You know and if you're going to do a rating system you have to be non-biased so now I'm gonna come over here and you get all these trolls online talking about it You know AEW is so much better because they've had 27 five-star matches and WWE their entire history has only had six I was gonna say Ospreay has had more than I want to three times the amount of five-star matches that WWE has had as a whole Which I'm sorry you go back and watch half of Kurt Angle's matches Shawn Michaels versus the Undertaker at Mania 25

Yeah, you go back and watch some of the Undertaker's. Some of Sean's matches. Benoit versus Eddie Guerrero. go back and watch. as we're not supposed to talk about it. I'm just talking about in ring show, what they put on. You go back and watch. was Kurt's favorite opponent because of how good he was at wrestling. You go back and watch Johnny Gargano versus Adam Cole versus Adam Cole. You go back and watch Andrade.

All right, we'll start on our next. I'm not going to do every show because we don't watch every show. No, I'm going to do every PLE. Yeah, PLEs that we watch because I'm not going to tell you if I don't get to watch an AEW match, I'm not going to shit on it because I didn't watch it. I'm not going to shit on it because it's AEW. I'm going to be honest with you if I thought it was a great match, although I will also be honest with you. One of the things that I think takes away is three hundred and twelve two and a half counts, you know, kicking out of seven finishers in every match.

Again, if they held I was going to say Roman and Cody at Mania 40 was great. Because they held it. Or Sina and Cody. I'm noticing pattern. Sina and Cody at SummerSlam. Because they held it for the big match. You don't see Roman do, well, actually you did because he was just good at it. But you don't see like Ye Uso doing 2.75 kick outs. know what I'm saying? Right. You don't have to hit a finisher 12 times in a match.

because it's not a finisher at that point. It's just a move that, shit, now the dude's too tired to kick out of. Right. Like, Breaker's Spear shouldn't be able to be kicked out of. Right. That's the thing. AEW needs to protect some finishers. I was just about to bring that up. I think they're doing a great job protecting Bronson's Tsunami. I don't believe anyone has kicked out

And that's the thing. And that makes it such a special move. Since he's been in WWE, not just in the main roster. And that makes it such a special move. Just like the end of days. Baron Corbin was not anything great as a wrestler. He was good, but he wasn't anything great. Right. He wasn't something you think of as, damn, a Baron Corbin match is on. I need to watch this. Right, if you protect a move, which you should, you should build one or two protected moves that nobody kicks out.

Because then when that first person kicks out of it, it's amazing. It's a huge moment. It's the same with the five star matches. When you don't overuse something like 27 kick outs, then when somebody does kick out, it's huge. I guess we just booked differently. mean, whatever.
